One of the most banned books of all time
My second commissioned TED-Ed video was about the incredible Maya Angelou and her memoir ‘I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings’. The script told the story of her harrowing childhood, detailing how she overcame abuse and prejudice as a black girl growing up in the 30s and 40s.
Who was the world’s first author?
In the beginning of 2020 I produced a short film for TED-Ed about the Sumerian priestess, Enheduanna. The animation was a summary of her life and her impact on future written text and poetry. It was a fascinating subject to research and I really enjoyed taking influence from artwork at the time of ancient Mesopotamia to shape the animation style.
